Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream Review

Well, today I'm going to share about BB Creams and what I think about the ever popular Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream.
Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream
the one i bought..

I bought my Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream from an online Facebook shop which sells it super cheap. RM45 per bottle only. Nabbed it super fast while they still have stock. It was selling like hot cakes.. CLICK HERE if you are interested in this seller..

Ingredients and Functions of Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream
How to use

BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm Cream or Beblesh Balm Cream. It is originally developed by the Germans for cosmetic surgery patients to sooth and treat their skin post-operation. Developed for the purpose of protection, soothing and restoring skin function, it is said to reduce the appearance of irritated, red or blemished skin with enlarged pores. BB Cream contains natural ingredients that do not damage or irritate the skin. It claims that, with continued usage, your skin will be healthy, calm, protected from redness and irritation.

The BB Cream craze begins in Korea and now it has hit Japan, China, Taiwan and even Malaysia.

So, what is the hype all about?

BB Cream covers dark rings, acne marks, uneven skin-tone, enlarged pores, giving your skin a natural glow. It also has good oil control power without compromising the moisture level of your skin. BB Cream can almost replace the function of foundation, concealer, sunscreen, moisturizer, etc. You can pretty much slap it on after "cleanser-toner-moisturizer(if your skin is dry)", dust on some powder for extra oil control and WALLA! you are now ready to head out the door. For more info, you can go read the picture above (ingredients and functions of skin79 bb cream). I always imagined that after I applied BB Cream, I can be like THIS..
Wah.. Healthy, radiant, dewy skin!! Who don't want?!?!

Sounds good isn't it? Too good to be true??

There is a catch..

BB Cream is NOT for everyone!!
I'm one of the unfortunate ones. BB Creams don't work for me. Boohoo..
Maybe I haven't find one that suits me yet.. *pondering*

So, what I think about skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream? (I'm not gona give ratings here because I think my skin is the problem as it mostly works on other people)

INGREDIENTS :
Water, Titanium Dioxide, Propylene Glycol, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Isopropyl Palmitate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butylene Glycol, Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Sweet Almond Oil, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate/Stearate/Rosinate, Cetyl Peg/Ppg-10/1 Dimethicone, Portulaca Oleracea, Trihydroxystearin, Glycosyl Trehalose, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Talc, Methicone, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Zinc Oxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Silica, Propylparaben, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Citrus Unshiu, Schisandra Chinensis, Lycium Chinense, Helianthus Annuus, Ivy Extract, Caviar, Camellia Sinensis, Aloe Barbadensis, Iron Oxides, Peg-8/Smdi Copolymer, Peg-8, Butylparaben, Aluminum Stearate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceramide Iii, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Bht, Nelumbo Nucifera, Vinyldimethicone, Adenosine, Triclosan, Phytic Acid, Cholesterol, Ubiquinone, Gold, Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Madecassoside, Cornus Officinalis Fruit Extract, Piper Methysticum Leaf/Root/Stem Extract

PACKAGING - I love the packaging because it is pink and cute (predictable!!) but hey, I love the pump. It is less messy than squeeze-tube ones..

CONSISTENCY - Just nice. Blend fairly easily. No complains about that. The few pictures below are just to roughly show you how is the consistency is like.
a dollop of skin79 hot pink bb cream

roughly blended skin79 hot pink bb cream

SMELL - I like the smell. Smells pleasant. No complains either.

COLOR - This BB Cream goes a little too dark on me. I'm NC15-20. I would say that it suits people with NC25-35 better. People with fairer or darker skin-tone than that, will look a little off. I tried to correct that by dusting on more powder. But ended up looking cakey.. FML..
Secondly, this bb cream has a greyish undertone to it due to the SPF content. Makes my face a bit grey.. I think I look better with yellow undertone foundations.. *shrugs*
see how dark it looks on me?
it's even clearer here
back of my hand

COVERAGE - This BB Cream has light to medium coverage only. If you have red acne marks and dark scars, this will not be able to provide sufficient coverage. If you have quite normal skin with some uneven skin-tone, then it will work nicely. It claims to cover enlarged pores but idk why my pores looks even larger with this on! Geez.. what's wrong with me and my skin?!?!

FINISH - The finish is nice and dewy at first. Again, it it good for people with dry to normal and fairly good skin. With my crazy skin, it doesn't work very well.. the dewiness will look like oiliness after a while and my whole complexion looks super dull.. So, if u have oily skin, dust on some loose powder or pressed powder to set it otherwise can fry egg weyy..

OVERALL - I'm not too crazy about it. I've given it many chances but still it fails me not to mention breaks me out. My complexion has became worse since I use it. I've recommended it to a friend though and it works beautifully on her. IMO, this only works for people with fairly good, normal skin that needs only slight coverage.

Another thing I have to mention is about the weather difference. One of the reasons BB Creams work so well on girls in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, etc, is because they have cooler and drier weather. On me in Malaysia (oily skin, hot and humid), it is a disaster. It just melts away or becomes patchy.. :(

I want BB Creams to work for me so much because with it, my make-up routine time can be cut into half (yeah.. lazy me me).. and it is oh-so-cheap. BB Creams work so well on most girls and they benefitted a lot from it (whitening, wrinkle-prevention, bla bla bla). *ENVY ENVY*

IMHO, try it if your never try before. You may like it. I've seen countless good reviews on it.. It's just me. I have crazy skin and it doesn't work for me. BUT, I'm still not giving up on BB Creams. I'm gona find the one for me. Hope you do too! Wish you all the best! *WINKS*

Stay Pretty.. Bai~

  12. hi queer, i guess i have the same case like yours, i tried the same bb cream (skin79 ht pink) but the results were terrible that I regret using it not to mention the break outs. **Argh**** My skin getting worst each day and there are times I cries cause acnes are everywhere. Then I started using Missha Prfct Cver, it really helps me alot and my skin is getting better, but still ot the acne scars and marks.

  13. Yea!! Missha Perfect Cover is much better for me.. T^T I thought I'm the only one that doesn't suit skin79 hot pink bb cream. I think there's some ingredients in there that we are allergic to..

  18. By the look of the packaging of the can u bought, I have 2 thoughts: one is that u picked up an old packaging (so the cream might not be fresh, check out the american website www.skin79northamerica.com ); or, just by chance, you have a fake can (there are a lot of information of the fake products on google).

  19. do u know if hot pink bb cream got different shades or not?? message me back plss..need help.. @ chikita049@yahoo.com..

  20. I think I might give it another try. I will buy the latest packaging from my local pharmacy. :D

  21. only have 1 shade?

  22. Hmn, I think you probably bought the fake one because your tube looks slimmer than the normal one but I don't know. You should buy the one at Watsons, they have a smaller bottle now, perfect for trying it (around 20-30 ringgit, 15ml) ^^

  26. Hey I just ordered some of this online and then came across this video...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWVk9NA8qqE&feature=endscreen&NR=1

It looks like the one in your photo is a fake, because of the silver bottom?

I'm not yet sure if I'v purchased the real or fake one :/

    ReplyDelete
  27. where did you find the ingredient list? I spent days looking for it... the second ingredient is known to cause cancer. (not in small amounts... but still!)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Maybe you had bought the fake ones. When i see u put the cream on ur hand, it's look bad and oily. Beside that, u bought it really cheap.
I used bb orange cream, and the texture of cream really different with yours. When i use it on my skin it doesn't make my face oily although in a hot weather. My face get brighter and look better even without any powder. There are a lot of fake skin79's product especially from china..

    ReplyDelete
  29. i found it on some website selling this bb cream! i forgot which one though..

  30. Hi, i saw your picture of the skin79 bb cream and i will tell you that it's a fake. if you go and do a search on youtube for fake and real skin79 bb cream it will show you how to spot the differences between a real one or a fake one. hope this helped

  33. the titanium dioxide? that's a physical barrier against UVA/UVB rays. or did you mean the propylene glycol? that's a solvent for food products and medicines. perfectly safe to ingest.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks for the ingredients! I was looking to find out if it's pregnancy safe, and it is NOT. Salicylates are the same as aspirin and not to be used during pregnancy, though the effects of topical use have not been established.

    Thanks!

  35. hello.. from what country are you?^^

    ReplyDelete
  36. yu have 100% bought the fake one. There is a whole right underneath the actual pomp whoch original ones do not have. And the most obvious thing about this one being fake is a silver bottom. NONE of BB creams by skin79 have never had silver bottom. also the pump button at the top looks completely different form original. DO NOT put it on you face! You cant predict what's in it!
