Naruko Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Whitening Toner and Morning Yogurt

As I've mentioned in my previous post, I got the :
- Naruko Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Whitening Toner
- Naruko Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Whitening Morning Yogurt

I've finished both of these by now. Here are my 2 cents about them.

Naruko Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Whitening Toner

I used this right after I cleanse my face, with a cotton pad to eliminate all possible make-up residue left on my skin. It is very light and watery. My skin felt refreshed and clean, prepping it for serums and moisturizers to absorb better. The texture and after feel reminds me a lot about the Naruko Marjoram Lavender Toner.
This toner have a very light, non-offensive scent that I don't know how to describe. It is not herby nor floral. I assume it is the smell of raw Job's Tears. Like most of Naruko's products, it doesn't break me out. This toner comes in a sturdy plastic bottle that is a nice, deep red color. I absolutely love the packaging.
Did I experience any whitening effects from this? Nope. Maybe I need to use more than 1 bottle to experience any whitening or brightening effects. :X It makes my skin calmer and more even though. I like it because it does what a toner is supposed to do. It just doesn't "WOW" me so I'm not exactly crazy about this toner. It is just 'owkay lor' to me. Will I repurchase? Well, I'll say MAYBE. I give it a 6/10.

Naruko Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Whitening Morning Yoghurt

I like this morning yogurt better than the toner. I used it as my morning moisturizer. This has a very nice texture that is a pleasure to use. It is a light, white gel that when spread on the skin, feels almost liquid-like. It absorbs beautifully leaving a nice, soft, smooth finish on the skin. No oily or sticky feeling whatsoever. I like the whole experience and feeling of using this.
This has almost no scent (barely detectable). It has a plastic pump bottle with a clear top cover. Simple packaging that I quite like.

My skin feels hydrated in the morning after using the morning yogurt. However, the hydration doesn't last throughout the day if I use this alone as moisturizer (I have oily, dehydrated skin). I have to use something more emollient on top of it to seal in the moisture (like the AMPM Skin Ecological Indoor Defense Cream). I think people with normal skin will like this a lot.
Again, any whitening effects? -__-" Not really. My skin did look brighter and calm the time I'm using this though. It is because my skin is moisturized and happy.
I quite like this moisturizer. Will I repurchase? YES. I give it a 7/10.

Overall, I quite like this line. Not exactly crazy about it because I like the Oil Cut line more as it suits my skin type more. The Raw Job's Tears line is light, hydrating and gentle the skin. Hope my short review helps those of you planning to purchase these.

I know I've been MIA recently and I'm so sorry about that. Arrgghh PROCRASTINATION!! I'll try to be good and update more frequently. ^__^

Until the next post, stay pretty~ XOXO~

Naruko Raw Job's Tears

Naruko came out with the Raw Job's Tears line not long ago. I just finished my toner and day moisturizer during that time so I bought:
1) Naruko Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Whitening Toner
2) Naruko Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Whitening Morning Yogurt

Before I proceed with my thoughts about these 2 products, let me share about what I found out about Job's Tears. I have no idea about what is Job's Tears until I researched about it. :P
I'll talk about Raw Job's Tears in this post and leave the review for another post because if not, it is going to be one long ass post..

(information taken from wikipedia)
Job's Tears, sometimes referred to as Coix Seed, is a tall, grain-bearing tropical plant often used for it's medicinal and curative properties in parts of Asia. Sometimes you can see it misleadingly sold as 'Chinese Pearl Barley' in Supermarkets although it's not really in the barley family.
Job's Tears
The whole processed Job's Tears is called 'yi mi' in Mandarin or 'yi mai' in Cantonese.

Raw Job's Tears is simply raw, unprocessed Job's Tears which have a slightly reddish color outer bran (thus the red packaging). The raw version of this stuff contains even higher concentration of antioxidant and is even better for the skin than processed Job's Tears.

Raw's Job's Tears main function is to encourage healthy skin and even out skin tone. Niu-Er also mentioned that this Raw Job's Tears line contained an ingredient named Phytosphingosine which specializes in targeting deep hyper-pigmentation (hyper-pigmentation is often mistaken as acne scars. Actually, hyper-pigmentation are the dark marks left over from our acne)
Phytosphingosine works by protecting the inner layer of our skin and preventing hyper-pigmentation from forming after we have acne thus make it very suitable for acne-proned skin. That's why Niu-Er called it "whitening from the inside" or "360 degree whitening"(directly translated from Mandarin).

Unfortunately, it doesn't help much on existing deep hyperpigmentation which only can be corrected through laser treatments. The main idea about this line is to prevent hyperpigmentation and achieving whitening, moisturizing, anti-aging, repair and soothing effects.

The Job's Tears Range consists of :

Here are some pictures of the leaflet inside for your reading pleasure :

Researching about all these made me very interested to try out the Raw Job's Tears line.

I've finished those 2 products by now. I'll post more about what I think about these at my next post.

Thanks for reading~

Until the next post, XOXO~

Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Hand Therapy

It is time to start taking care of our hands!! Wrinkly hands is NOT a good look. Trust me on that..
not my hand.. just for illustration purposes..

Personally, I HATE putting on hand creams or lotions of any sort. First of all, I'm too lazy to put it on. Secondly, I hate the sticky and greasy feeling. But the skin on my hand took its toll from all the laundry/dishwashing that I did during the past years. It starts to look dry and wrinkly now. You guys know I love nail polishes. Sadly enough, nail polishes doesn't look good on dry and wrinkly hands.

I usually just ignore the condition of my hands until I put on a light pink polish last week. I realized my hands look absolutely horrible. So I rummaged through my drawers for some kinda lotion. I found a tube of Gardener's Hand Therapy sample (25ml) that my friend gave to me some time ago. I have another tube of that sample in my everyday handbag but I just never used it. I just kept in in there "in case" I needed it (never did).
here's the disgusting squashed up tube that i kept in my bag -__-"

I don't really care so much about this hand cream because I'm not a fan of the smell. At that time, I was kinda put off by the scent but I put in on anyways. OMG I never really noticed how great this hand cream is. I love how silky and soft it made my hands feel. It absorbs considerably fast and moisturizes my hands so well!!

I used it consistently for a few days and definitely saw a difference. My hands look fairer (because it is hydrated) and it looks better with the light pink polish.

Almost everyone love the scent of this cream at MUA. I just don't get it. It's weird because I usually love foody scents. I read that some users thought this smells somewhat cinnamon-y. I personally think this smells like granny (no offense to grannies or people who love this scent). I'm just not used to it.

I slowly got used to the smell and it doesn't repel me as much. I still don't like the scent. :/ Once I finish the 2 tubes of samples, I will definitely repurchase this, in some other scents perhaps. Maybe the Citron Hand Therapy?

Have you use this before? How do you like it? Is it just me that don't like the scent?

I know I said that there's a Naruko post coming up next. Sorry, I haven't finish editing the picture in my laptop. It will be coming soon! :D

Until my next post, keep your hands soft and moisturized! XOXO~

Lots of love,

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

I've found a new favorite cleansing oil!!

I've always prefer to remove all of my make-up with a cleansing oil.
Firstly, because I am too lazy to remove my eye make-up with a separate remover and a cotton pad, then use a make-up remover wipe to remove my face make-up. Ahhh, too many things to do!! (yea.. i'm lazy like that)
Secondly, I feel that removing make-up with oil involves less tugging thus, less likely to cause premature wrinkles (too paranoid?).

I've gone through (must be close to) 20 tubes of the L'oreal De-maq expert Elixir Concentrate Ultra Make-up Remover (phew! that is a mouthful)
this one
I like it a lot but I got sick of it.. :P I want to try new things!!

I've wanted the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil for quite sometime so I decided it's time to splurge. Got it from Watsons. This drugstore cleansing oil cost me RM99.90 for 200ml!!! So, it better be good..
packaging looks like this
description behind the box

ingredients

I'm impressed with it the first time I used it. Turns out, I like the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil more than my L'oreal one!!

This smells like olive oil because that's what the main ingredient is. It is not offensive or anything. It's just that, I don't like it very much but what the heck.. It's just a cleanser. The scent doesn't matter as long as it works well right?

The oil is more runny than the L'oreal remover (which is more of a gel) but thicker than the ZA or the Biore cleansing oils, if you use those before. I don't like either of those.

I usually use 2 pumps of these. It feels so luxurious to massage this into my skin. Remember to massage into DRY skin with DRY hands! Then, I emulsify the oil with some water and continue massaging, then rinse off. There is no residue left and my skin felt so clean. It also takes off all my eye liner and mascara including the 'super-hard-to-remove' Majolica Majorca mascara. This is very gentle as it doesn't sting my eyes at all~

After that, I will double cleanse my skin with the MBD Strawberry Yogurt Cleanser.

The BEST thing for me is IT DOESN'T BREAK ME OUT!! The Biore and the ZA one breaks me out. With this DHC one, my skin behaves even better than when I'm using my L'oreal one. I've read that it's because it doesn't contain any mineral oil which might cause break-outs. This product is very natural. Fragrance, additive colour and paraben free (ooo.. i like that word).

In conclusion, I really like this cleansing oil and I will repurchase again and again until I get sick of it. If you are looking for a cleansing oil, I highly recommend this one. *2 thumbs up!*

I want to apoloqize for the blurry picture in this post and some of the past few posts. I'm having a hard time taking pictures with the 'lucky draw camera'. Almost every picture I take is blurry. Idk why!! I thought 10megapixel camera should be better than my 3.2megapixel Blackberry camera!! How can the quality be so bad? I don't understand at all.. *~*

Thank God I got a new phone with a much better camera now. Hope I can take better quality pictures for you all from now on. ^_^ Another Naruko post coming up next. Until the next post, stay awesome~

XOXO~

I can haz a toothy smile soon~

Ever wonder why I never smile wide enough to show my teeth?

It's because I'm having on metal braces. I got it about 3 years ago and it is about time I have it removed.

I used to have crooked lower teeth. Upper teeth are not that bad but the orthodontist advised me to get both upper and lower done in order to achieve the correct bite.

I've always wanted to straighten my teeth but I kept delaying it for some personal reasons. When I came out from my previous relationship, I feel quite liberated. I realized I want to do something for myself so one of the first things I did is to save up and get myself braces. I know some 'friends' are talking behind my back saying that I'm wasting my money coz my teeth are not that crooked

*smile*

Looking back, I never regretted it.

In real life (not in pictures), I'm quite used to them after having them on for 3 years. I can talk, smile and laugh without being too self conscious about them.
However, for some reason, I am very shy to get my braces' pictures taken. So, I subconsciously close my mouth every time I know a camera is going to capture my picture. LOL. And here are some awkward pictures of me smiling with my strained face. -__-"
taken during my birthday last year
'smile till eyes can't open' but still refuse to show my teeth..
taken when i first started wearing braces..

My decision to straighten my teeth is IMO the best decision I ever made. I was scared at first.
WHAT IF, I look absolutely horrible with braces? (i'm very vain)
WHAT IF, my friends laugh at me? (i can't stand humiliation)
WHAT IF, people stare at my teeth?
WHAT IF, no one wants me coz I'm ugly with braces?
All these and a lot more silly things were running through my mind.

I took the plunge anyways because I felt that's what I really wanted. Against all that I thought, during my braces journey, my friends are supportive, I feel prettier than I ever felt and I found someone amazing during this time. :3  <3 The journey has been really great for me! Actually, I don't feel like removing my braces now coz I might miss it. I'm weird right? -__-

I guess, what I'm trying to say is if you feel like straightening your teeth for whatever reasons (dental health or cosmetic purposes), go ahead and do it. It is never too late no matter how old you are now. Having a better smile can really boost your confidence. There are much more advanced methods to have straighter teeth in shorter time now like Damon braces and Invisalign (invisible aligners). My favorite blogger, Xiaxue has gone through the Invisalign experience and she has perfectly straight teeth now. I absolutely love the results!!
Read her blog posts. PART 1 and PART 2. She's so funny and I frickin' love her~

Invisalign can be slightly pricey tho. To those on a budget, do not fear metal braces. Keep in mind that you won't be having the metal on your teeth for long. 1-3 years max (Damon braces only takes about 1 1/2 years) and it's not that bad. Plus, I noticed that it is so common for people to have braces that I think it's a trend nowadays..

My next ortho review will be next month and I hopefully the orthodontist will de-bond my braces by then and I can show you guys the result!
meanwhile, show you ugly betty -__-"

Until my next post, stay awesome~ XOXO~~
